A brief recap of the trip so far for those that don’t follow my livejournal – We, that is my mom and me, arrived in Salt Lake City in one piece. The flight was a bit rough and I got sick on the short hop from Phoenix to Salt Lake, but then I always get sick on shorter flights. I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time out of the airplane window. It was amazing. We checked into the Plaza for the night and wandered around – I found a nifty Japanese place at the local mall’s food court, they serve yakisoba and udon.

Today began with a nine AM alarm. Checkout at the Plaza was at Eleven. It was about an hour before that that I noticed the check-in for our other hotel – the Sheraton, where we’ll be staying until the 15th – was actually the next day. We managed to get into our room at the Sheraton a day early so it worked out.

We went to the Denny’s just a block over for breakfast, which at the time was more brunch, and it took a long time to get seated and then for our food to arrive. The food was decent – what can you can about Denny’s? Afterwords we walked over to the trolley because mom wasn’t up to walking four blocks. It was my first ride on a trolley – public transport in the lower 48 is rather nice. We got a whole bunch of $1 coins in change for our tickets too – that was before we found out that we could ride in the area we’d be going to for free. We wandered the outdoor mall all afternoon; I got a new leash for Chai, a new shirt from Hot Topic(it was on sale for eight-something) and I splurged and got a new skirt at Coldwater Creek.

After dinner at Applebee’s we took our time to get back to the hotel, almost missed the trolley back because I have a sense of direction and mom doesn’t,  so we could go straight to the pool. The water in the pool was too cold to swim in, but the hot tub was alright. Tomorrow I’ll have to check out the pool while it’s daylight, I’m sure it’s much warmer then.

I learned that Friday is the trip out to the farm – which means I’d be away from the internal all day, thus missing out on BLITEOTW. I might be able to get something up absurdly early, or extermly late. Frankly I’m just miffed about it because I was really looking forward to it and this whole Young Living thing is really more my mom’s thing.

That’s all for today. Tomorrow is more wandering, perhaps in the direction of the Temple, and checking in with pre-registration.
