I took an impromptu vacation from the internet, and really all things technological, last week when I painted my room. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time as the almost flesh toned pink, which is the same color the rest of the house is painted, simply wasn’t a restful or relaxing color for me. My room didn’t feel like I had really moved into it. So I painted it three different kinds of purple – a dark purple for the walls, a periwinkle purple for the trim and doors, and a really light blue-purple for the ceiling. After four days of work, and a sudden cold, it is finished and beautiful. I’ll post pictures as soon as I can find my camera.

The other thing that has happened this last week is snow. We had five or six inches last Tuesday, which blew away by Friday in a late autumn windstorm, and we had about an inch fall last night. I hope it snows against soon and doesn’t melt away – partly because Chai had to have two baths in one week because of the mud last week, and mostly because I love the snow and the way the world looks when it is covered in frosted white. I adore autumn, and I love winter. It’s just the brief time of bare trees and muddy ground inbetween that I don’t care for.
