Heh, it sounds like a horror moving title. Housesitting has kept me away from my room and thus kept me away from really finishing it it – it’s still a mess, and the door still need to be painted. But with NaNoWriMo approaching I have a feeling it will be awhile before my room is completely at rights again.
I managed to get a few posters up last week. The photo to the right shows my central corner of the room – from that couch I surf the net, watch tv, play video games, read, and pretty much do everything except sleep. I just got a new cover for the couch, one that matches my lovely new curtains, but I’m not going to put it on until I’m home and can keep the dogs from ruining it.
The lights that are strung up on the curtain rod are somehow going to go straight up that corner, perhaps wrapped around whatever light I finally get for that corner, and the paper cranes at the top of the Legend of Zelda wallscroll are going to go over the door(which is the opposite wall).
And here are my wonderful new bookshelves! …already covered and hidden by junk and full of books. I’m seriously amazed with how many books I have – I think I’ve spent more on books in the last year that I have in my entire life. The bookshelves do go a long way towards controlling the mess that my room had become.
This photo also shows off the trim, which you can’t really see in the other photo. The closest doors are painted the same color as the trim, and I think they’re going to need a second coat because some of the old pink shows through.
Looking through my photos I realize I forgot to take a picture of the ever important entertainment center! Which now is over console capacity – I simply can’t come up with a configuration that lets the VCR, PS2, Wii, Cable box, and new acquired Xbox 360 share the same space. So the Xbox sits off by its lonesome, pretending it’s a remote stand.
